The Puttaparthi Airport
is located 1 km from the Super Speciality Hospital and 6 kms from the
ashram. The airport was built in 1990 as preparation for Swami's 70th
birthday when over 3 million travellers visited the ashram from all
over India and Worldwide.
Flights originate to and from Madras (renamed as Chennai), Bombay (renamed
as Mumbai) and Bangalore. On rare occasions it also offers flights to Colombo,
Sri Lanka and Delhi.
